sky blue so called fans on this forum

Postby mgh »

I can not believe the posts I read on this forum day after day, slagging off the club, chairman, manager and players past and present.
The so called fans of Coventry city fc would do better putting their energies into supporting the club and players, filling the Ricoh on a regular basis and playing their part in helping the club get back to the top tier of English football.
A city with the population of Coventry and its surrounds should have no trouble filling the Ricoh. Maybe if the fans were more supportive then the players might respond better - the supporters have to become the 12th man and drive the team to victory.
I would love to see the fans get behind Ray, Aidy and all the team this year and really start supporting the club and less of the **** posts denegrating the club you are supposed the follow.
You would never know / you might enjoy it and be surprised by the success that might come our way.

Sadly I think it comes with the territory. Us long suffering fans are programmed to accept abject performances and failure. We wouldn't know how to handle attacking, exciting football and success. Moaning is what we're good at so we play to our strengths :)

Well said MGH but as a city fan of 45 yrs I used to feel exactly as you did even during the 80's 90's when we were nearly always fighting relegation. The last 10 yrs have been so negative and poor. This is the first pre season for a long time I feel positive. I am not saying promotion but close to it.

I think we just need one more player, the player we know Aidy is try to get, a Really good goal scoring striker.

'So called' fans are perfectly entitled to complain about things they are not happy about if the end desire is a successful football club. Being a fan doesn't mean blind devotion.

No it doesnt Ivanov as long as the arguement is valid. I dont mind people challenging RR and AB if they have a good arguement, but sadly some people dont and will not hear anything positive about the club, almost as if they get a kick out of our failure...

I used to feel optimistic in pre-season. Nowadays I just steal myself for the worst. Only a tiny flame of hope still burns.

Hackettboy - yes, but we haven't seen anything yet!! haha , i think thats the point... if we were half way through a terrible season, then you could understand people moaning. But we are yet to kick a ball this season.

and Ivanov, while i agree you shouldn't have blind devotion .. you also shouldn't have blind moaning!

What have we ever had to moan about ?
We are still losing money, we don't own the stadium and the squad is still ****.

if your going to slag off fans who voice an opinion, wether right or wrong, let them defend themselves by pointing out which bits you mean,i.e,which ex/current players have been slagged off.who has moaned about the manager.
regards filling the ricoh,we've got no chance,it's been full 7 times,England under 21,rugby semi final,3 nights take thst, oasis.the chelsea game was a sell out but i don't count that as it was the novelty of having them here, the same bandwagon jumpers we used to get at highfield road when man u turned up,cause we never had many sell out games there either.everyones entitled to an opinion but don''t slag off guys who have probably been going up city for years, the same guys as when i started going, standing on the kop,no seats,no roof, whatever the weather, whoever we were playing, cause i'll tell you something, players, managers, chairman, owners, they'll all come and go.but those guys will still be there, still wearing the shirt, always sky blue.

100% right Murph1.
I've watched CCFC for more years than I care to remember and I have a season ticket and I spend my money in the club shop, that's what gives me and any CCFC fan the right to my own opinion. If some fans don't like it Hard Luck!!

Strange how this post excludes the author from the category of "so-called fans" until it comes to being included in shared success!
